Last year during the month of November and the insanity that was NaBloPoMo several of us played the game, 5 Truths and 1 Lie. This is where the writer (me) posts 6 fun facts on my blog, then the reader (you) has to see if they can “spy the lie.”
We (Lois and I) liked it so much we decided to play again, thankfully some of our friends (thank you NaBloPoMo Midlife FB group) decided to play along this year too.
Five of these things are true about me. One is not. Can you “spy” the lie? Answer in the comment section, the answer will be revealed on Friday, November 21.
1). My first near death experience–that I remember–involved a horse.
2). My Grandfather was born 100 years before me.
3). Strong smells make me gag.
4). I think long hair on men is sexy.
5). I worked in a wallet factory in Lyman, NH.
6). I love to gamble.

Oh my…. I have a guess but am I so not sure! Writing my guess on my list and can’t wait for the big reveal and to hear the stories that go with the “truths”!
Oh Ruth, you are a “rule” breaker today. 😉
Doreen McGettigan says
I have no idea why but I am going to guess #4…I’m insecure about that guess but I’m sticking with it.
Doreen, your list was sooooo hard. I can’t wait to see your big reveal. Mums the word over here about mine, thanks for playing!
Cathy Chester says
Ok, once again you did a fabulous job! But if I HAD TO MAKE A GUESS….I’d say #3 is a lie. I can’t wait to find out!
Thanks for inviting me into this (very) fun game, Elin.
You are entirely welcome! Glad you are having fun, I am too, very cheap entertainment! I have to say I am hoping I am right about yours… 😉 Thanks for playing!
Carol Cassara says
Really hard, as you are a newer friend. Gambling, I think, is the lie. Gambling.
Makes it so much more difficult-doesn’t it? Thanks for playing, Carol
Angela Weight says
I’m thinking it’s probably #4. Or is it #6? Not sure why I think #5 is true. You just seem like a gal who knows how to make a good wallet. lol. Can’t wait to hear the stories that go with these. My official answer is #4.
Haha. Well assuming I did in fact make wallets, I am glad I seem as if I’d make a good one. 😉 Time will tell…

Hmmm … we obviously have so much more to talk about! I can’t remember you going to Vegas or gambling online or planning a weekend in Reno but I feel like the grandfather thing is kind of a trick you threw in. How could he have been born 100 years before you? That would have made him around 60 when your parents were born. On the other hand, I’m so not a math person, I could be totally off here! Going with the gambling. Although I would like to discuss the sexy men with long hair with you …
I read your comment to Jimmy and Chandler on our way to the airport, they both thought it was very funny. And no, you can’t call either of them to find out. 🙂
I cannot believe how difficult this game is… I’m going with #4, but I’m probably wrong. I can’t wait to see your answer 🙂
I know, right? It is hard. And I’m not saying anything until tomorrow.
I going to guess number…5, final answer!
Thank you. I sincerely mean that. You are the only one–so far– that has picked #5. 🙂
Mary Lanzavecchia says
I don’t gamble. I can see us whooping it up at a show in Vegas together, but not gambling. Yep, I’m going with #6, because even if that one is true, I’d still hang out at a show and the tables in Vegas with you.
So much fun to share this game with you, Elin! Thanks for the inspiration to play this year.
I’d hang with you anywhere Mary! But I’m still not uttering a word.
Janet Norton says
I have to go with #2 because I just can’t figure out how it could be possible 🙂
Ah. I like this, Janet. Another number that had not been selected. Stay tuned.
This IS a fun game…fun for you to make up a lie that is so hard to spot! I’ll take #6. Am I right?
Maybe. Maybe…not. 🙂
Lisa @ Grandma's Briefs says
I say gambling, for sure. Well, for sure according to the very little I know about you. We must get to know one another better — and maybe go gambling. 😀
Cheryl Nicholl says
No. 6. because you said you ‘love’ to gamble…. actually that may be possible, so #1 because any near death experience worth it’s metal usually involves WINGED horses.
Lisa @ Grandma's Briefs says
WAIT! I’d like to change my vote to No. 2. 😀
Rena McDaniel says
I am going to choose #4 because I just don’t think you are the long haired man type!
Hmmm…is there a compliment in that response? 🙂
Carpool Goddess says
I think it’s either the wallet factory or the gambling. Okay, I’ll say wallet factory!
Thank you to you too, Carpool Goddess.
Wow. This is tough. I’m torn between Number 4 and 6. Hmm. I think you can’t gamble so #6.
Hey there, I found you via the NaBloPoMo blogroll.
I think it is number 4. 🙂
As part of NaBloPoMo I try to comment on as many participating blogs as I can, and I am also adding participating blogs to my feed reader. So I’m just dropping by to let you know I’ve added your blog to my feedreader, whenever you publish a post I will see it. 🙂
I have created three bundles on Inoreader so that bloggers can easily visit other participating NaBloPoMo bloggers which you can find here –
Your blog is in the second bundle.. I also have a link up going at my place so my readers can find participating blogs which you are more than welcome to add your blog link to.
Looking forward to seeing your posts. You may see me drop by again during November, but it might be December before I finish my first drop by to blogs if I don’t get faster at leaving comments. 🙂
Happy NaBloPoMo to you!
Well, then thanks for playing. 🙂
Hmmm… I have NO idea but will guess either 4 or 6 and will decide on 6 because I live in Vegas! I hate guessing!
But do you hate gambling? 😉
Fun game! I’m going to say number 6 is the lie! Can’t wait to find out!
