Never Give Up

Sep 7, 2012 By elinwaldal Leave a Comment

Never underestimate the many ways you can help support an individual that is stuck in an abusive relationship. Don’t give up on them. Sometimes, the only thing a person needs is a family member or friend with patience and the tools to help them get the help they need.

The average woman may leave her abuser 7 to 8 times before permanently ending the relationship. In my experience, the threat of being killed was frightening; that fear stood in the way and usurped my desire for change.

If you, or someone you know, are looking for resources, call the hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) or visit their website: The Hotline.org.

It takes individuals to stop domestic and teen relationship abuse; helping another person see that they deserve a life free from emotional, physical, or sexual abuse is the first step. Relationship abuse is everyone’s problem. Anyone can be part of the solution.
