Birds on a Wire (Persepective: Day 4)

Feb 4, 2014 By Elin Stebbins Waldal 7 Comments

It is well known in our family that I am obsessed with birds on a wire.

In fact it is not uncommon if when another family member Jimmy spots them before I do, then they he will say shout, “Look there are your birds on a wire!” His enthusiasm connotes I own all things related to birds on a wire, which of course plainly I do not.

In his defense I have been known to request that he pull off the road in moving traffic so I can snap a picture…

And there was the time (much to our daughter’s horror) I lay on my back at a public high school to capture Starlings:

Yet nothing prepared me for this wonderfully creative interpretation of birds on a wire… Yet again I am reminded that indeed everything truly is a matter of perspective. Enjoy.

I’m completely obsessed with birds on a wire. I used to sit in my car outside A’s piano lesson and basically watch birds float in and out of positions on a telephone wire. If there were no birds on a wire that was in sight, I would position my car in a direction where there were birds present on another wire. It’s very meditative for me…pleased to learn you have a passion for this as well!

Where one person sees birds, another “sees” music. That’s the epitome of what makes the world so interesting.

So many people think that we all have to think alike and those who deviate from the consensus are wrong, but I feel sorry for those people. They miss out on so much of what makes humans human.

Love this. And I’m obsessed with birds on a wire, too — if you remember my, uh, old blog logo. How did I not know this about you?! And the video is fantastic. Must share it! xo
